S2 Games has announced the release of updated Heroes of Newerth clients for both Linux and Mac users. With the release of the new client versions, the team expands the potential player pool for the recently detailed HoN Tour, a competitive multiplayer tournament. Unlike many other clients for Windows-developed games, the new HoN clients were designed specifically for Mac and Linux, and went through significant testing before launch to ensure high quality player experiences. The new Mac and Linux clients will offer players a gaming experience on par with the current Windows client, enabling gamers to compete on an equal playing field both in and out of tournaments. The new Mac and Linux clients feature Awesomium integration, which includes HoN?s in-game web browser, used to connect players to HoNTV, game guides, and more. Big mac for a penny.
Available to current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers of all grade levels.* Mac Save with education pricing on all Mac models. Laptop deals for students.
Both clients will also offer a new updater for faster patch downloads, and improved performance to a variety of other features. The HoN tour is their newest competitive circuit for the game. HoN Tour is a multi-event tournament series with a season one cash prize pool of over $333,000.
For most Unix systems, you must download and compile the source code. The same source code archive can also be used to build the Windows and Mac versions, and is the starting point for ports to all other platforms.
Qualifers signups are open now! Find out more about the HoN tour on the eSports site. Grab the new Mac and Linux clients on the downloads page.
Mamamorticia13 Disgrace This app is a disgrace. We paid thousands of dollars to have a Honeywell system installed and we can’t even easily remotely access anything nor navigate the app to perform basic functions like searches. After hours we’ve been able to figure out what the unmarked symbols mean but still not the simple features like saving a portion of video to the actual phone or device or an easy way to playback. My husband is a programmer and said this was horribly done.
