EDIT-------------------------- Thanks to users and for the links! Putting this at the top for those of you who came here searching for a solution. The issue is a bug introduced sometime in Feb 2016 and can occur if there are images in your Signature. MS LINK: Work around, remove images from your signature. You can test if this will fix the issue by: 1) Start a new email with your normal signature containing images.
Re: delayed response to typing in Microsoft Word for Mac 2016 In response to ProfessorPhone I am a telstra customer, telstra is the office 365 reseller for business in australia and I was directed to Telstra by Microsoft for support. For information about Office 2016 for Mac releases from September onward. Use your keyboard to access the ribbon quickly and to format the words or pictures you just inserted. Such as typing or scrolling lags and slow performance when editing a large document. Convert ppt for mac 2011 to mp4.
2) Type and you should see the 'rubber banding' issue 3) Delete your entire signature from the email. 4) Type and you should no longer see the 'rubber banding' End of Edit------------------------- This just started this week, after switching over to the black theme (might just be coincidence) but whenever I reply to an email, or send a new one, the cursor 'rubber bands' while I type. Basically it seems slow to move to the next position to the right. It's ONLY when typing in the email editor, calendar and contacts are not affected.
It's not happening in Word or Excel, just Outlook. I've been through the different suggestions like disabling hardware accelerations, turning off animations, turned off all Auto Correct options (The 'While you Type' ones). And of course restored back to all default settings.
Finally, when attempting to start in Safe mode I get the following error: we're sorry but outlook has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly It only happens on my one desktop PC, doesn't happen on my laptop where I also have Office 365 installed. Unplug your second monitor everything in outlook was slow drawing. Drawing everything, drawing the dialog box, drawing the text as I typed it, drawing the cursor in a new position, drawing tabs as I changed them, just slow lag laggy rubber-band type of behavior. My guess was that it was a display graphics problem, not one of my plug-ins trying to read my text as I typed. So I unplugged my second monitor and it quit trying to do all that graphic work and now behaves correctly. Friggin outlook.
